Last month's landmark was the Mausoleum of the Roman Emperor Hadrian, or by it's more modern name: The Castel Sant'Angelo.
This month: Neuschwanstein Castle in Bavaria.
Incidentally for all my listeners who are really enjoying the baffling science of human evolution, CNN is reporting that genetic testing from the finger bone and teeth from a hominid called Denisovan, links humans and neandertals to this species. The Denisova hominin which these bones came from lived in Siberia as late as 41,000 years ago, which, if my calculations are correct, proves I know nothing about anthropology.
Here's the link to the NPR transcript of Talk of the Nation, in which Ira Flatow talks to David Reich, Professor of Genetics at Harvard.
Episode 4 is coming along nicely so expect a release later this week!
